Get the scoop on the two big improvements coming to the 2020 Super Duty series in today’s blog!

2020 Brings New Engine and New Tech

Super Duty trucks deserve a super-strong engine, and Ford is set to deliver in the upcoming 2020 collection. With a new 7.3-liter V8 on board, as well as an innovative power takeoff unit, the 2020 Super Duty series is set to impress.

Behold the Beastly 7.3-Liter V8

2020 Super Duty Series' New 7.3-Liter V8

2020 Super Duty Series’ New 7.3-Liter V8

The 2020 Super Duty series will now sport an all-new, awesome 7.3-liter gasoline V8 engine. This beefy beating heart should provide best-in-class output for gas V8 engines, according to Ford. With 430 pound-feet of torque and 430 horsepower under the hood, it will be hard to beat this bad boy. Alongside this innovative engine, nearly all Super Duty trucks will feature a new heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission that can tackle the increased power output with ease.

While all that power is impressive, perhaps even more surprising is that the new V8 will be able to over 400 pound-feet of torque at just 1,500 rpm, giving drivers access to impressive performance without the wait. The full strength of the engine will available at 4,000 rpm. All that effort is sure to produce a lot of heat, so Ford has designed a forged steel crankshaft with “extra-large” main bearings as well as cooling jets for the pistons to keep things cool and capable no matter the effort.

The F-250 and F-350 will be the first members of the 2020 Super Duty series to see the new 7.3-liter engine as an available option. Ford will roll out the upgrade to the F-450, F-550, F-600, F-650 and F-750 at a later date. These models will see a little less power, with 350 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque on tap. The F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models will also feature this engine eventually, alongside the E-Series cutaway. As time goes by, Ford will roll out numerous calibration configurations to improve fuel economy, but the automaker has no target date in mind quite yet.

Power-Up Accessories with the New Standard Power Takeoff

The other big upgrade coming to the 2020 Super Duty Series is the new inclusion of a state-of-the-art power takeoff unit. Normally used by truck-chassis dumpers and snowplows, a power takeoff unit provides extra energy for accessories. Cranes, boom lifts, snowplows and the like draw power from powertrain thanks to power takeoff units. The new power takeoff unit will allow for up to 300 pound-feet of stationary torque. With this new inclusion, the 2020 Super Duty Series will be capable of many more duties than in the past.

The power takeoff unit won’t be included in every model, however. It will come standard on 2020 Super Duty Series trucks still sporting the older 6.7-liter diesel V8. For trucks toting the new 7.3-liter V8, power takeoff will be an available upgrade. The six-speed automatic-armed F-650 and F-750 should see it as an option at a later date as well.

On important factor to note is that unlike most power takeoff systems, the 2020 Super Duty series addition won’t leave you stuck stationary. The unit connected to the 10-speed automatic transmission is designed as a “live” setup that will allow use when in motion.

Affordable, advanced, and able: the 2019 Ford Escape SE is just what you’re looking for!

Affordable Driver Assist Features

When it comes to advanced driver assistance technology, the 2019 Ford Escape SE has plenty to offer. At only $995, the SUV’s Safe and Smart package provides a ton of great tech at a very affordable price. Opting for this upgrade will net you some impressive improvements, such as:

  • rain-sensing windshield wipers,
  • adaptive cruise control,
  • forward collision warning brake support,
  • automatic high-beam headlights,
  • active lane-keeping assist and
  • a blind-spot warning system with cross-traffic alert.

When you consider that this is the second least expensive trim, with an MSRP of just $26,500, packing on the package is a steal. For less than $28,000 before a delivery charge, you can have a highly-capable SUV with tons of state-of-the-art technology.

Reasonably Priced

2019 Ford Escape SE

2019 Ford Escape SE

That low price is another major reason why the 2019 Ford Escape SE is such a good buy. For just $28,490, you can drive away in an all-new Escape SE, delivery charge included. With the only previously-mentioned Safe and Smart package being the only on offer for this trim, a fully-featured 2019 Escape will run you less than $30,000. Compared to competitors that run for as much as $40,000 or more when all the cards are on the table, the 2019 Ford Escape SE is an absolute bargain.

Usable Cargo Space

The final piece of this SUV puzzle is that the 2019 Ford Escape SE has plenty of place for your stuff, with easy access as well. At a maximum of 68 cubic-feet of cargo capacity with second-row seating folded forward, this SUV has plenty of room for activities. With the rear seating upright, it still offers a competitive 34 cubic-feet of space. This above-average cargo capacity at a below-average selling price makes the 2019 Ford Escape SE a very enticing offer.

Even better, getting loaded up in a new Escape is a breeze thanks to a few great design elements. Low lift-over height means you won’t have to struggle to get your gear into the rear, and completely fold-flat back seats take the hassle out of loading up. At 60-40 split rating, you can even keep some passenger space while still bringing along a lot of toys and tools. Last but not least, wide-placed wheel wells leave a lot of open area to work with in the back.
