Ford F-150 fans rejoice: the Raptor’s teeth are about to get even sharper with a new V8 engine, according to Ford Authority.

F-150 on the Hunt

Ford F-150 trucks are one of America’s most beloved trucks, especially the Raptor edition. Beating in the chest of the beast currently is an already-impressive 450 hp, 510 lb.-ft. of torque V6. While the EcoBoost-equipped engine can certainly handle itself, the roar of the Raptor has been a bit weak for some tastes since the V8 was dropped this generation. Concerns have been heard, and it appears Ford is making moves to make sure everyone hears the Raptor coming.

Raptor Ready to Pounce

According to a report from Ford Authority, a new V8 engine is being developed to take the Raptor to even higher extremes. Having spoken to several sources at the automobile company, Ford Authority broke the news that an eight-cylinder engine is being readied for a new “ultra-high-performance” Raptor variant. With specifics on the engine unavailable, speculation is rampant about which powerhouse will be chosen for this upcoming Raptor.

Ford Authority claims that the competition is between two existing Ford engine. The first potential choice is the sports car-style powerhouse of the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT 500, the 5.2-liter V8 Voodoo. Another candidate showing promise in the rumor world is that of the upcoming 2020 Ford Super Duty, the 7.3-liter V8 Godzilla.

Sharpening the Ford ClawsFord-F-150-Raptor-3

Details on the two engines are scarce, with Godzilla proving especially elusive. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby will certainly need some serious firepower under the hood, which the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 should bring. Ford Authority reported that it will bring more than 700 horsepower to the table, though official figures from Ford are not yet available.

The 2020 Ford Super Duty’s “Godzilla” is even more of an enigma. The 7.3-liter should live up to the monster moniker, as Ford claims that it will be “the most powerful V8 in its class.” Ford Authority reported that code-name “Godzilla” will sport an OHV, or OverHead Valve, layout.

Though no deeper details are known, Ford wouldn’t be changing the engine up if it meant a downgrade in performance. The Raptor’s current engine, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost High Output V6, is capable of 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque. “Godzilla” should make a mockery of those numbers, especially as it is meant for the Super Duty.

Welcome to Jurassic Bark

With one engine coming from a show-stopping sports car and the other a heavy-hauling workhorse truck, the upcoming F-150 Raptor appears to bring the best of both worlds in one package. No matter which engine ends up under the hood of this new ultra-high-performance Raptor, Ford Authority reported fans will still be able to opt for the current HO 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Though with such a fun and ferocious new choice in the lineup, picking this lesser engine would be like trying to put the truck in a cage. We all know what happens when you try to lock up dinosaurs …

Our work ethic doesn’t end when you leave the lot; when your Ford vehicle of choice needs repairs and maintenance, our Service Department is more than happy to show you why your car or truck is in better hands here than anywhere else. While there are many options when looking for a shop to service your vehicle, Lupient Ford pulls ahead of the pack in a few key areas; it’s a no-brainer to come back to Lupient Ford for all your future car repair needs.

Quality

While saving a few bucks on parts or service can be an enticing offer, one must remember that in today’s world of cheap knock-offs and counterfeit imports, cutting costs can’t compete with the genuine article. Do you really want to gamble the health and safety of you and your vehicle on goods of questionable quality? The Service shop at Lupient Ford uses only factory-direct parts straight from Ford. Sure, you could find a less expensive alternative at other shops, but if your brakes fail just before a collision, was it worth saving the cash if they can’t save your life? Don’t put yourself in the position where an accident caused by faulty parts can literally cost you an arm and a leg.

Is saving a few dollars in your wallet worth it if you end up trading your life, or those of a loved one?

Tools and Tech

One of the biggest perks of being attached to a dealership is increased funding; smaller operations just can’t match our resources. Lupient Ford is able to equip our technicians with the latest tools and technology available, and our technicians are able to replace aging equipment much more frequently than the competition. Lupient Ford avoids the dangers of old, worn-out tools and outdated technology that can hurt your car more than they help.

Is it worth endangering your pristine pride and joy with tools that are far past their prime?

Flagship-Ford-ServiceKnowledge

Our devotion to the Ford brand means that you’ll find nowhere else than can match our expertise and experience when it comes to working on your Lupient Ford car or truck. With other shops having to juggle numerous brands and models from across the spectrum, there’s simply no way they can keep up with all the latest information about Ford. Our Service Department specializes only in the Ford vehicles we carry, giving them the ability to understand your vehicle to a level no one else can match. Knowledge is power, and our technicians continuously go through extensive training, giving them intimate knowledge of every nook and cranny of Ford’s products. The learning process never ends, as we update our training with the latest developments and tricks in Ford maintenance so our technician can continue their mastery. On the other side of the spectrum, competing shops struggle to keep up with the ever-evolving car world as they take on many more brands and models. They must sacrifice quality for quantity, while Lupient Ford has both in abundance.

Do you really want to take a chance on a technician that will take a chance on your car, using potentially dangerous practices and doing unnecessary work due to their lack of experience working with your vehicle?

Amenities

Perhaps the most annoying part of the maintenance process for customers is all the waiting around that comes with the territory. At Lupient Ford, making your stay as pleasant as possible is a top priority. Our house is your house. Save yourself the stress of waiting in the cramped, uncomfortable confines of a back-room waiting area that hasn’t been updated in ages. At Lupient Ford, taking care of the driver is just as important as taking care of the car itself. Our climate-controlled waiting room keeps you comfortable, rain or shine, wet or dry. Decompress and relax in our luxury furniture. You can even grab a quick bite to eat as your vehicles nears the finish line.

What sounds better: waiting for hours in a room straight out of 1995, or relaxing in a luxury-focused experience?

Reputation

When you buy a vehicle from Lupient Ford, you become a part of the pack, and we take care of the pack. Like a family, maintaining strong ties with our customers and community is crucial.  As such, protecting the integrity of the Ford brand is too important to tarnish it with shoddy shortcuts and slacking standards. Smaller brands can take chances and cut corners, risking the loyalty of their customers, but Lupient Ford must protect ourselves, our customers and our brand. Your vehicle is safer in our hands, as we do only what is needed, with the tools necessary and the techniques required, to protect our pack. Keeping your vehicle safe and your patronage secure is far more important than shave off a few cents.

Can you guarantee the same level of hard work and quality from someone with no name to protect or reputation to uphold?

Car leasing and buying are a big investment, with a lot to consider. You’ve probably worried about how to handle the payment process in the past. Stressing out about leasing this or buying that can be one of the biggest factors deterring potential new buyers, so Flagship Ford would like to make it easier for you by taking some of the guesswork out of the equation. Here’s our top things to consider when deciding whether car leasing or buying a new Ford is best for you.

Car Buying/Financing

If you’re comfortable with making a more long-term investment in a vehicle, and you want more freedom on the road to do as you please, buying and financing is your best bet.

Buying or financing a car means that it yours to do what you want with, including sell and replace. You can swap to a different vehicle on your own timeline, whether that means in a few months or a few decades later. Of course, the trade off is that you must handle the sale of your existing vehicle yourself, rather than simply returning it to the dealership.

Buying is usually the more expensive option, as you’re factoring in the full cost of the car, not simply chasing depreciation as leases do. That price difference pays for the freedom to do what you want, especially when you want to go to a new vehicle. Want to trade it in early? There are no fees for that. Sell it to someone else? There’s nothing stopping you here.

Customization and usage are limited only by your imagination, not a contract with strict rules and fines. If you want to go off road and risk a few dings to your vehicle or throw on a slick aftermarket spoiler and exhaust system, there’s no middle man to tell you you can’t do that or hit you with a fine down the line.

Car LeasingCar Leasing

Think of leasing like picking up a book from the library; when you lease a vehicle, you’re agreeing to borrow it for a set period of time, albeit with a price tag.

Since you’re simply borrowing the vehicle from Flagship Ford, you’ll have to return it to the dealership when your agreement expires, usually two to three years. This makes changing vehicles a breeze, you get to walk away from the vehicle with ease. Changing over to a new lease means facing only a few potential end-of-lease costs. When you own a car and want to make a swap, you face the struggle of finding a buyer to take it off your hands.

A big appeal of car leasing is the ability to change cars every few years. After your agreement ends, you’re free to start a new lease with a Ford of your choosing. If you decide you want a different vehicle before the contract is up, you’ll face early termination fees, but it is still an option. Either way, frequently getting behind the wheel of a new Ford is far easier when leasing.

If saving money is a concern, car leasing is a great option. Upfront, a loan to buy out a vehicle can be slightly cheaper, as leasing includes potential fees such as acquisition and security deposits; however, month-to-month bills are often noticeably lower for leasing agreements than loan payments. This price difference is due to leases only dealing with the vehicle’s depreciation, plus interest charges (rent charges), taxes and fees. Loan payments face the full weight of the vehicle’s cost, a far bigger burden to bare.

Car leasing does mean some restrictions in how you use your vehicle.  Wear and tear, customization and mileage can negatively impact your payments and fees when returning the vehicle. Leased vehicles must be in salable condition nearly equivalent to how you bought it when returned, which means you can’t get too crazy with a leased vehicle. Leaseholders must avoid damage to the vehicle, using unauthorized parts and racking up excessive mileage if they want to avoid costly fines. Of course, for drivers with a more sensible approach to ownership that will keep the vehicle in good condition, these are minor concerns at best.

Making the Choice

To sum it all up, consider the following when deciding between buying or leasing your next Ford.

Leasing is a great option if you’re concerned about:

  • The ability to easily change vehicles every few years
  • Saving money on monthly payments.
  • Keeping your vehicle in like-new quality.

Buying or financing could be a better option if you’re more concerned about:

  • Having the freedom to add or change parts and go wherever you want.
  • Having the freedom to sell or trade your vehicle when you want, where you want, on your terms.
  • Keeping your vehicle for long periods of time.
